Turn empty toilet paper rolls into adorable reindeer puppets! This eco-friendly Christmas activity is perfect for preschoolers and young kidsβsimple steps, safe materials, and lots of festive fun.
The Craft
Youβll only need:
- Empty toilet paper cardboard tubes
- Brown paint or brown paper to wrap
- Googly eyes (or paper eyes)
- Red pom-pom or paper dot (for Rudolphβs nose!)
- Cardstock scraps for antlers
- Glue stick or white glue
- Marker for mouth
- Optional: ribbon, glitter stickers, yarn, felt pieces

Step 1 β Paint or Wrap the Tube
Cover the cardboard tube with brown paint or wrap it with scrap brown paper.
Step 2 β Add the Face
β’ Glue on the eyes.
β’ Add a red pom-pom nose or draw one on.
β’ Use a marker to draw a cute smile.
Step 3 β Make Antlers
β’ Cut antlers from leftover cardboard or cardstock scraps.
β’ Glue them to the inside of the tube at the top.
Step 4 β Decorate
Kids can add scarves from ribbon, little spots from paper scraps, or stickers for extra sparkle!
Step 5 β Turn It Into a Puppet
Place your fingers inside the tube β your reindeer puppet is ready for a Christmas show!
