🌟 Introduction
It was a breezy afternoon, perfect for kite flying. Little Mandu had just finished making his colorful kite, painted with stripes of red, yellow, and blue. He couldn’t wait to show it to his friends, Tori the turtle and Pip the squirrel.
“Let’s see whose kite can fly the highest!” shouted Pip excitedly as the friends raced to the open field.
📖 The Story
The sky was dotted with fluttering colors. Mandu’s kite soared beautifully, dancing with the wind. He laughed so hard that he didn’t notice Tori struggling to keep his own kite steady.
Suddenly, a strong gust of wind tugged Mandu’s string. Whoosh! His kite spiraled upward, the string slipping right out of his hands.
“Oh no! My kite!” cried Mandu, watching it fly away toward the forest.
Without thinking, he ran after it. Pip and Tori hurried behind. When they reached the edge of the forest, they found the kite tangled in a tall tree branch.
“I shouldn’t have let go,” said Mandu sadly. “I was too busy showing off.”
Tori smiled kindly. “It’s okay, Mandu. We can get it down together.”
They worked as a team—Tori held the branch steady, Pip climbed carefully, and Mandu waited below to catch the kite. When the kite was finally safe again, Mandu noticed Tori’s kite had broken during the chase.
“I’m sorry, Tori,” Mandu said softly. “I didn’t help you earlier when you needed it.”
Tori blinked slowly and smiled. “That’s alright, Mandu. You helped now—and that’s what matters.”
Mandu took out a spare ribbon from his kite’s tail and tied it to Tori’s broken one. “Here,” he said, “now we both have special kites again.”
The three friends flew their patched kites side by side until the sun set, feeling lighter than the wind.
